The Batman II Is Officially Happening
Matt Reeves is returning to direct The Batman II, with Robert Pattinson back as the Dark Knight. The sequel to 2022’s critically acclaimed The Batman is part of James Gunn’s new DC Universe plans.
Return to Gotham
Reeves’ gritty, noir-tinged take on Gotham City was a critical and commercial success. Pattinson’s brooding Batman, Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman, and the moody, rainy aesthetic set the film apart from previous DC entries.
What to Expect in the Sequel
While plot details are under wraps, The Batman II will likely explore more of Gotham’s rogues gallery and continue Bruce Wayne’s journey as the world’s greatest detective. The film is part of the “DCU: Gods and Monsters” chapter’s Elseworlds label, separate from Gunn’s main DCU continuity.
