Plot: What We Know

Season 3 will adapt the latter half of George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood — the bloody culmination of the Dance of the Dragons. With major characters dead (Rhaenys, Lucerys, Jaehaerys, Maelor) and dragons fallen (Meleys, Sunfyre), the war shifts to its final, most devastating phase.

Key storylines expected: Rhaenyra’s descent into paranoia and tyranny (“The Maiden of the Morning”), Daemon’s dark journey to Harrenhal and the God’s Eye, the rise of the Dragonseeds (Ulf the White, Hugh Hammer, Nettles), the Battle of the Gullet, and the eventual deaths of both Rhaenyra and Daemon. The season may also introduce the young Aegon III and Viserys II, setting up the regency era.

Ryan Condal returns as showrunner. George R.R. Martin remains executive producer. With Season 2’s cliffhangers (Daemon’s vision of Helaena, Rhaenyra’s isolation), Season 3 promises the bloodiest chapters yet.
