Stranger Things Season 5 Release Date

Netflix’s flagship sci-fi horror series Stranger Things returns for its fifth and final season in 2025. The Duffer Brothers have confirmed this will be the concluding chapter of the Hawkins saga, with production wrapping in late 2024 for a 2025 Netflix US release.

Plot: What We Know

Season 5 picks up after the devastating events of Season 4’s finale — Max in a coma, Vecna’s curse spreading, and the Upside Down bleeding into Hawkins. The Duffer Brothers have teased a “war” for Hawkins’ soul, with the entire main cast united against Vecna in a final showdown.

Key storylines: Eleven’s full powers vs. Vecna, Hopper and Joyce’s relationship, the Russian connection (Kamchatka), the fate of Max, and the origin of the Upside Down. The Duffers have promised an “epic” finale that ties back to Season 1’s mysteries.

Filming began January 2024 and wrapped December 2024. VFX-heavy post-production is underway for a 2025 Netflix US premiere. The season will have 8-9 episodes, each feature-length.
